Run by a group of students from the first intake of the HighWire Doctoral Training program at Lancaster University, this workshop considers new and innovative forms of data, its representation and the transformation of these into physical objects. The objective of this exercise is to achieve connvergence between divergent groups of post/multi/cross-disciplinary participants and hopefully achieve inspiration in the form of unexpected conceptual physicalisatins of data that allow people to interact and engage emotionally with objects and potentially gain new insights on their daily lives. The workshop is undertaken in a collaborative, creative and playful way in which participants are asked to discuss, imagine and create through a mix of rapid prototyping (including concepts on how data could be manifested physically) and a sense of emotive play.
You are invited to take part in this plaful workshop and imagine innovatative ways of how data could be represented physically. No previous experience in design or computer science is required as the organisers are looking for a multidisciplinary group.
