This is a one-day hands-on introductory physical computing workshop specifically designed for beginners to this field. It is aimed at students and members of the public (max 15) interested in learning about physical computing. Participants don't need to have any previous experience of electronics or programming, but it would be helpful if they knew how to use a software package such as Photoshop or Dreamweaver.

The OU's newly developed Arduino-based home experiment kit, the SenseBoard will be used. The SenseBoard and Sense programming environment were developed for My Digital Life, a distance learning course on ubiquitous computing commencing in 2011. Mike Richards, who designed the course will be leading this workshop.

The workshop is funded by the EPSRC CHANGE project - www.changeproject.info - and is free for participants. There is some funding for travel and accommodation expenses for participants living in the UK.
