With the Scottish Centre for Telehealth having merged with NHS 24 on 1 April this conference comes at a particularly opportune time. The conference will specifically look at the current and potential role of telehealth and telecare in Scotland, examining current levels across health boards and the potential efficiency savings and service improvement of increased use.

This conference will also:
• Discuss how integrating the Scottish Centre for Telehealth into NHS24 will provide better delivery as well as exploring the key operational and organisational decisions related to its assimilation.
• Examine how health boards can generate potential efficiency savings and service improvement through increased use of telehealth solutions.
• Hear what industry are doing to work in partnership with the NHS, local authorities and care providers on finding innovative solutions to patients needs through new technologies.
• Discuss the challenges and obstacles that remain in encouraging the use of telehealth and telecare in Scotland.
• Hear from patient representative stakeholders on the importance of having a people centred approach through empowering patients within the healthcare system.
